About Longhorn Trading

Longhorn Trading came into existence while utilizing our AI models in other industries.  Red River Analytics, our sister company, decided to try and expand several existing AI models to see what other applications these powerful systems would be good at.

Red River Analytics was developing an AI model to help a local hospital better detect certain forms of cancer to diagnose and treat it sooner and more effectively for their patients. These types of systems typically use several different AI models from Computer Vision to Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs).  We really love this nerdy stuff, if you cannot already tell!  Well one night, actually late on a Saturday night, we decided to all take a break from the project to clear our heads a bit.  Everything starts to look the same after a while...

During this break from the project and over the course of several weeks, we decided to see if our computer vision AI model would do well at other tasks. From funny things like identifying types of animals and fish to identifying pedestrians more accurately for self driving cars. We then decided to test it on stock charts - after all a stock chart is just an image in the eyes of a computer. After re-programming the model a little bit we started to notice that our AI was really starting to do well trading stocks on charts alone.

This of course made us raise our eyebrows and look at each other with a curious look. We decided to pursue this new AI model as a curiosity because we were so busy with big AI projects for several large companies so we did not have a lot of time to dedicate to it.

After we finished several of the projects we came back to this AI model and started adding in other data, called "Alt-Data". This data is scraped from the internet by our data mining algorithms and then compiled into useable data for our AI models. We started creating sentiment scores, real-time news analysis, financial reporting analysis, and many more other sub-systems for this Alt-Data.

Combining the Alt-Data with our already very good Computer Vision AI, we ended up developing a very powerful trading platform powered by our AI Engine.
